Projects & Clients CingularCingular serves more than 54 million subscribers in the U.S. Bechtel is managing new cell site deployment and 2.5G and 3G overlay for the National Wireless Network. The end-to-end deployment of new cell site builds and transition from a 2.5G network to a 3G high-speed data network for AT&T Wireless Services (AWS) went underway in 2000. The project has migrated the network from TDMA through GSM, GPRS, and EDGE capabilities, into wideband UMTS services. LucentLucent handles project management, construction management, engineering, and design of 106,000 access lines, including a fiber-optic loop, procurement services, warehouse management, and logistics. The work involved both underground and aerial installation of primary and secondary network. FiberTowerFiberTower provides mission and business critical transport solutions, including backhaul and premise access services, to major wireless carriers, enterprises and government agencies. FiberTower networks, which are designed using nationwide spectrum and an optimal mix of wireless and fiber technologies, offer carrier-grade performance, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint capabilities, and TDM to Ethernet service platforms. GSM-R/FTNNetwork Rail is implementing a new £1.2bn railway communications system which will provide significant performance and safety benefits to the railway. Using Global System for Mobile communications – Railways (GSM-R) technology, it will, for the first time, provide a single, national system of secure train driver-to-signaller communication. At the same time the Fixed Telecoms Network, used for all operational railway communications, is receiving a complete overhaul.
